LiDAR and Terrain Services
IAGT offers a variety of LiDAR and terrain analysis services. To include FEMA compliant independent collection QA/QC and derived product development. IAGT has also pioneered options for freely available three dimensional viewing options for LIDAR and airphoto collections that offer an inexpensive and truly unique solution to making LiDAR data accessible to a large audience. Terrain Services

Welcome to IAGT LiDAR and Terrain Services. The following are examples of the types of data processing and terrain analysis services IAGT offers.

In addition to the services described in the attachments above, IAGT has experience integrating high resolution terrain data into raster based GIS modeling and in deriving additional value added data products from both LiDAR point clouds and resulting digital elevation and/or surface models.

Terrain Viewer

IAGT hosts a number of terrain visualizations through our TerraGate web server. These and similar visualizations are also available as distributable files and can be stored locally or on a network file server for open or secured access. The free viewer, TerraExplorer, must be installed to be able to access the visualization files. In order to launch any of the visualization files offered here, you must first download the free TerraExplorer viewer.

Once installed, clicking any one of the "Launch" buttons below will automatically load the selected visualization file. Please note that our current test server is limited to 10 active users at any one time. If you receive a server error message, please view our server statistics.

The following visualizations can be launched from this site:

  • Monroe County, NY - Bare Earth LiDAR 10 ft2 DEM with orthophotography

Click either button below to launch the IAGT Terrain Viewer for Monroe Co. This visualization file includes imagery from the NYS Digital Orthophotography Program and a digital elevation model derived from LiDAR collected by Pictometry International.

Because of the volume of GIS Data integrated with this visualization, the viewer may take several minutes to load on your computer, and the performance may be slower than for visualizations without additional GIS data.

Caution should be exercised if trying to turn on all the GIS data layers at one time. It is recommended for maximum performance to limit the number of GIS layers on display at any given time to three (3).
